About the Thoughtful Bread Company
Bread-making at The Thoughtful Bread Company is a labour of love.
Our bread is made from the most seasonal and locally sourced or foraged ingredients, fresh each and every
day. Each loaf is hand-rolled and individual in character.
Produced using extended proving periods each bite will leave you wanting more.
At The Thoughtful Bread Company we believe that it’s
not just our bread that will put a smile on your face; it’s
the people, the ethics and the environmentally-friendly approach to business that we adhere to at all times every single day.
What does Thoughtful mean?
...and what do we stand for?
Bread, the natural way
Free from improvers and additives, with extended proving times, and the use of wild yeasts where possible - our bread is a healthier, tastier alternative.
Seasonal
Here at The Thoughtful Bread Company we depend on the
seasons to yield us a variety of locally-grown produce and
a bounty of foraged goods from the wild larder. This is
why our breads will vary throughout the year in tune with
nature - the way it should be.
Healthy
From our wholegrains to our spelt and our pumpkin seeds to our nettles, we choose our ingredients with care to ensure that every bite of our bread is as healthy as it is delicious. We are also developing an exciting range of dairy-free, wheat-free and gluten-free breads.
Local
We believe in buying locally and therefore champion local
producers whenever possible through the sourcing of our
ingredients, buying within a 40-mile radius of the city.
Ethical
Thoughtful to our customers, suppliers, staff, and thoughtful to the community at large.
Environmental
From minimising the machinery used in the production of our bread, to the eco-friendly logistics used in our local deliveries, and from the renewable energy we purchase to the way we minimise and manage our waste, we are looking at every aspect of our business to help reduce its day-to-day impact on the environment.
Any requests?
As a small craft bakery we can tailor to the exacting needs of our customers and would be delighted to help create a bread to suit your requirements.
